Webex Teams Beta

Webex Teams, conference software from Cisco. This electron wrapper breaks SSO for me. I tried with firefox, chromium and qutebrowser and this is the page I get redirected after I enter my email address. Webex Teams on iOS 13 Beta 3 Looks like iOS 13 Beta 3 breaks the messaging components of Webex Teams. When you select the spaces, the messages don’t load. I know this isn’t a bug or anything to fix, more of an FYI. 17a-4, LLC has released Webex Teams DataParser in beta for client testing and feedback. DataParser is a leading compliance solution to bring third-party data into any archive. Webex Teams is Cisco’s chat and collaboration platform keeping teams connected through messaging, file sharing, whiteboarding and calling.

  • A new way to capture Polls in Webex Teams! Add the new Pollbot (poll-bot@webex.bot) to any group space or direct message the bot to quickly setup polls for any team. Curious what your colleagues are thinking or simply want to reach a consensus? Take an anonymous poll and share or keep the results private. Meet Webex Beta.
  • Anchor Webex Platform anchor. The Cisco Webex for Developers program gives you the tools you need to develop applications across the entire Webex family of products and services. Webex Meetings is a powerful conferencing solution that lets you connect with anyone, anywhere, in real time.

Webex Events (New) and Webex Events (Classic)

We previously communicated that the all new Webex Events would be part of the update that becomes generally available with 41.4. However, we are continuing to incorporate valuable feedback learned from early field trials. Webex Events (New) will remain available as a Beta release until the 41.5 update.

With the 41.4 update, you’ll have the Beta version of Webex Events (New) in addition to the classic version of Webex Events. Webex Events (New) includes many of the advanced features you’re familiar with from Webex Meetings, as well as those you know from Webex Events (Classic). We’ll continue to enhance Webex Events (New) in future updates.

If your Webex Events (Classic) plan supports up to 1000 users, you get support for up to 1000 users in Webex Events (New).

It was originally communicated that Webex Assistant for Webex Meetings would be available in Webex Events. However, this feature will not be available as part of the Beta release.

If your Webex Events (Classic) plan supports up to 3000 or more users, you get support for up to 3000 users in Webex Events (New). Webcast mode is included only for plans that support 3000 or more users. To upgrade your plan to support up to 3000 users contact your Webex account team.

See Compare Webex Events (New) and Webex Events (Classic) to see what’s available in this update. To learn about current known issues and limitations, see Known Issues and Limitations of Webex Events (New).

Webex Events (New) will be available on a delayed release cycle. Check status.webex.com/maintenance to see when it will be available on your site.

New Events Scheduler

Webex Teams Beta

With Webex Events (New), a host can schedule an event from either the Webex site Home page or the Meetings page. The host can invite panelists, automatically start a practice session, choose Event or Webcast mode, and more. Events scheduled from the Webex Events (Classic) scheduler will continue to have the original Webex Events experience.

Event attendees will join on a brand new welcome page. If registration is required, attendees will register and answer questions on this page.

Event Mode and Webcast Mode

In this update, Webex Events (New) will support up to 3000 participants in both Event and Webcast mode, depending upon your Events plan. In both modes, we've improved your event experience:

  • Presenters can share content optimized for motion and video with computer audio.

  • All attendees can view the panelists’ video and shared content.

  • Cohosts can be assigned at the time of scheduling, or during an event, to help manage attendees in an event.

  • Hosts can set a stage view for all attendees.

Webcast mode is included only for plans that support 3000 or more users. It is not available for Webex for Government.

In Event mode, participants enjoy rich features that allow them to stay engaged and get the most out of the event. When enabled, all participants can send animated emoji reactions, select Music mode when they want to perform, or check out a panelist's profile with People Insights.

When your event calls for a simple attendee joining and viewing experience, Webcast mode is a great way to host an event. Once attendees receive the invite and join from the welcome page, they can stream the event with a web browser instantly. Attendees can adjust volume, stop and resume video, and expand to full screen. The host can specify the layout for attendees at any time during the event.

Webcast mode is not available for Webex for Government.

Check out what participants can do in Webex Events (New), and find out the difference between the Event and Webcast modes to know what’s available in this update.

Webex teams beta

Per https://github.com/nativefier/nativefier/issues/164 you can bypass the SSO by adding your orgs url to the PKGBUILD. Here's an example that I used:

I would also recommend adding --tray and --counter options for nativefier and changing the --pkgname '${pkgname}' for gendesk to --pkgname 'Webex Teams'.

For now, I will be fixing the package, until the Webex team properly supports Linux. Once it is ready, I will edit the package as needed.

There is an issue open for support.
